Pick-up & Drop-Off Procedures

  • Why do you call it "carpool"?
Our school uses the terminology "carpool" to describe the process of pick-up and drop-off of students.
  • How do I drop off my student for breakfast in the morning?
If your elementary or jr. high school students are participating in our breakfast program, you  may drop off no earlier than 7:30 AM in-between the elementary and jr. high buildings. When students are dismissed from breakfast, they will enter the main front doors.
  • How do I drop off my Jr. High student for school each morning?
Your student may enter the building no earlier than 7:50 AM. Please wait in your vehicle, or physically distance on the sidewalk in front of the school until the doors open. Your student will walk to the auditorium or gym according to direction from staff. When dropping off, pull as far forward as possible, curbside only. Please note: The curbside and arrow colors do not apply to morning dropoff.
  • How do I drop off my Elementary student for school each morning?
Students will no longer meet teachers in the back of the school. Instead, students will enter the main front doors each morning, no earlier than 8:00 AM. When the main doors open, the student will walk directly to his or her classroom. The tardy bell rings at 8:15 AM. Pull as far forward as possible and drop your student off, curbside only. The curbside and arrow colors do not apply to morning dropoff.
  • How do I pick up my student(s)?
Students are dismissed at 3:00 PM at the Jr. High and 3:15 PM at the Elementary. Early out day dismissal is 12:30 PM at the Jr. High and 12:45 PM at the Elementary. Students must be picked up no later than 3:30 PM on regular dismissal days and 1:00 PM on early out days. Pick-up Zones are determined by the grade of your youngest SAA student. Older students are to meet younger students for pick-up. (Example: your jr. high student would meet your 2nd grade student in Yellow Zone). Please see the following to determine which color you follow for the pickup procedures.
  • The exit is different from last year. Why did you move it?
The exit was moved to facilitate a canal that is part of the planned South Davis corridor project. You will still be able to make a left or right turn onto Antelope Drive.
  • Can I really get double volunteer hours for helping in carpool?
Yes! We can never have too many helpers when it comes to the safety of our children. Please consider volunteering and we will get you started. Don't be worried if you don't know what to do, we will train you!
