What is it?
Our new student incentive program is set-up to incentivize our 7th - 9th grade students to improve academically each term as well as become responsible and respectful members of the school and community.
How does it work?
The program works by taking a student's first term GPA and using it as their starting point. During Term 2 students will be expected to improve their GPA by .5 points, which translates to a step up in grade level for each class. For example if a student ends Term 1 with a 2.5 GPA, their goal for Term 2 is a 3.0. The student is only competing with themselves.
Why do we need this program?
The ultimate outcome we hope to have is a higher GPA rate for our students overall, higher graduations rates, more students leaving high school with academic scholarships and more students on track or ahead for high school graduation, allowing them the opportunity to complete early college courses, applied technology courses and in some cases leave high school with a certificate of completion ready to join the workforce in a highly skilled craft or completing a college associates degree.
What kind of help do we need from our parents?
#1 - ENCOURAGEMENT! We can do this! Each student only needs to do better than their last term. Honor Roll students, maintain your Honor Roll status.
#2 - SPONSORS & DONATIONS! We would love cash donations/sponsorships to help fund our term activities and we need donations in the form of prizes that our teens would like to be rewarded with, i.e. electronics, gift cards to places they like to eat and hang out, etc... Prizes can be brought to our front office anytime during office hours:
M-TH 7:30am - 3:30pm & Friday 7:30am - 2:00pm
