Syracuse Arts Academy strives to make every child's journey a memorable one.

As a military child, transitioning to a new school can often present unique challenges. SAA was awarded the Purple Star School designation in April of 2021. Purple Star schools work tirelessly towards helping highly-mobile military children and their families throughout their transition, during deployments or extended TDYs, and other challenges presented as part of the military way of life.

Syracuse Arts Academy, a proud Purple Star school, is happy to announce that our board has approved a military preference in our lottery.

Make sure you mark "yes" to the question, "Is this student a child of a military service member as defined in Utah Code § 53B-8-102?" upon enrollment. By doing so, you will have a preference before the general population in the lottery.

With Hill AFB nearby, we have a significant amount of military children attending our campuses. Those military children form our "Ready Reserves" Program. They are standing by to take your child under their wing as they arrive at our school.

As your child transitions to SAA, members of the Ready Reserves, a Student-led program, will give your child a tour of the facility, escort them to class their first week, eat lunch with them, and help them find the answers they need. We hope to build this program and offer events in the future.

We recognize the challenges military children can face during their parents' careers. We realize that understanding and empathizing for their needs requires skills that often go beyond training provided as an educator. SAA will be implementing Purple Star Professional Development for all staff so that each and every employee understands the demands and challenges military children often face.

Our school holds a very special Veterans Day program every year that we invite you to attend. All children at SAA participate in this wonderful program.
