Safe Walking Routes

Hello families!

We want to thank you so very much for your understanding as we figured out the best and safest drop off and dismissal systems for our new school. Designing our parking lot flow and then helping over 400 new students, their families, and our staff learn it has been no easy task but we couldn’t have done it without your patience and flexibility. Our system will continue to become smoother as everyone acclimates to the traffic patterns and follows simple parking lot etiquette: 

Always pull forward as far as possible before loading/unloading. 

Stay in your vehicle. 

Pay attention. 

Use crosswalks. 

Drop off

Supervision on our campus begins at 8:10 am. 

We have a 2 lane drop-off system. Once in your lane, always pull as far forward as possible. You should stay in your vehicle and your student(s) needs to exit on the curb side. Once you are unloaded, pull off the curb with caution and continue out of our parking lot. 

LEFT LANE: The left lane is designated for Kindergarten, Ms. Lytle’s students and daycare drop-off only. You will wait at the front cones and a traffic director will be at the waiting point beginning at 8:10 am to direct cars through when there is room at the curb. From there, kinders will be escorted to their playground. Kindergarteners being dropped off for breakfast should use the right lane to go in the back gate to access the cafeteria. 

RIGHT LANE: The right lane is designated for all other grade drop-off and thru traffic. The right lane will continue through the parking lot and loop up the west side of our building. Drop off is on the WEST SIDE WALK. Please always pull as far forward as possible and avoid stopping by the gate to drop off wait until there is room on the curb. Students will walk to the back gate to access the playground/field.

PLEASE NOTE: 

If you have multiple students including kinder and another grade, you can choose either lane for drop-off. If you choose to drop off on the west side walk, your older student will need to walk their kindergarten sibling through the back to the kindergarten playground. 

Students dropped off after 8:30 (or after gates are closed) need to walk to the front of the building and buzz into the office. 

Always use crosswalks. 


Pick-up

Always pick up in your youngest child’s designated pick-up zone

We have a 3 lane dismissal system. Once in your lane, always pull as far forward as possible. You should stay in your vehicle and your student(s) needs to enter on the curb side. Once you are loaded, pull off the curb with caution and continue out of our parking lot. 

LEFT LANE: The left lane is for kindergarten zone ONLY. This lane will be stopped at the rear corner of the building and a traffic director will call cars through when there is space available at the kindergarten curb. 

CENTER LANE: The center lane is for 1st/2nd grade zone ONLY. This lane flows directly to the west curb. 

RIGHT LANE: The parking stalls along the outer edge of the parking lot become the right lane after the “no parking sign”. This right lane flows around the rear of the building to the zones for grades 3-6 and Mrs. Lytle. Grades 3-6 pick-up along the rear curb and Mrs. Lytle’s students pick-up around the corner along the east curb.  This lane is also the best option to use to exit, in the event you already have your student and need to leave. 

If you are late to pick-up and the parking lot is clear, your student will be waiting in the front lobby. 

Always use crosswalks.
